Well Do, Do, Do Ya Know Anywhere We Could Go? 'Cause I Don't Care As Long As I'm With You

So yea...Thanksgiving break was pretty much the best time I've ever had. . . seriously. I wish everyone could've had as much fun as I did. Thank you Beth.

Sing Like You Think No One's Listening...

The break from school has been incredible. Words can't describe how great it's been. So yea...I'm gonna stop typing uhhh now.

There's Nowhere Else In the World I'd Rather Be Than Here With You

Today was a good day. In first block, I finished up some worksheets that were due by the end of class. That took like 10 minutes. For the rest of class I studied my vocab words for Honors Lit and reviewed the sections of Madame Bovary that we were supposed to read (thank you Alex for the SparkNotes. You saved my life). Next block, we took 2 quizes, which I think I pretty much aced, then worked on our Magical Realism essays. Bleh. I suck at writing scholarly papers. I'm more of a narrator...Anyway, in 3rd block all we did was watch a movie, and finally, in band, we played (surprise). Easy, easy, easy.

It snowed on and off today...I liked it. I love snow...Not as much as I love rain, though.

You Know...I Wouldn’t Mind Being Stuck In The Rain With You

Sunday was awesome. Beth and I hung out and had a ton of fun (at least I did). But anyway, no one really cares about that. And only like 2 people read this, tops, so yea...There's isn't much use in posting about everything.

Today was boring and slow. I need to start on my Honors Lit homework. I need to do my Science portfolio thing and make up my test, too. Blah. I'll probably start it all at like 11 like usual.

Tomorrow is probably gonna be an easy day. I'm glad. Hopefully my Punk Radio Cast hoodie will come in.

Wednesday, 99 cent bowling? Maybe? Hopefully?

And I, I Am Not Into The Idea Of Being Without You

Today was pretty boring. Nothing at all really happened. Except I discovered that our answering machine is broken. At about 6:40 I started heading up towards the football field for the Powderpuff game. It felt pretty nice outside. . .except my toes were freezing. Stupid non-insulated Converses. . . Anyway, the game went into overtime, but the seniors finally came out on top 26-23.

When I got home, I found a message from someone from Atlanta that might be moving up here next summer. They seem to be pretty cool.

Hopefully tomorrow will be more exciting than today.

Let's Get It Started! Hallelujah!

Black Candy and Sloppy Meateaters were incredible. Only about 10 people showed up, but it worked out for the best. It was nice and cozy in Brett's living room. The only downside to the whole tthing was that there was a constant flash of a camera going off. . . but anyway. . . I love how the actually interact with their audience. Best $150 I ever spent.

After the show we hung out for a bit then said our goodbyes. It was about 10 then. So, I get back in cell range and my dad is SCREAMING at me in the message saying I'm grounded and all this stuff, and is really angry when we finally get to town (after getting lost). He claims I lied to him and all this stuff and I didn't. Luckily, I was pretty much ungrounded starting today.

After I got home from school today, I went and ate up at my grandparent's house, slept for a bit (because my medicine makes me dizzy and tired), and then Beth called and we decided to go to a movie. We got there like...40 minutes early and decided to go to Dairy Queen with Sean and Winston. When we got there, there was this hobo guy that went in and was begging for food. They gave him a bag with food in it and he went outside. About 5 minutes later, he comes in and throws the bag on the counter. "I said I was HONGRY. You didn't gimme anythin'. If I wuz Mexican yound'suh fed me real well." He then stormes out. So uhhh...we kinda decided to leave. We later see the same guy at a gas station begging.

Anyway, we decided to watch "Zanthura." Complete Jumangi ripoff. It was fun though. We were in the very back and only 2 other people were in the theatre. We made fun of the movie the whole time. Fun stuff.

Powderpuff football game tomorrow. Woohoo! It's gonna be so cold.

I can't wait 'til we're out for Thanksgiving next week!

I Want Some Memories For When I'm Old and Gray

Today was a good day. Basically, yesterday, the doctor told me to stay home from school cause on my bronchitis. Well, today I felt pretty good, minus some congestion. So anyway, I slept 'til like 11. When I got up, I felt like listening to some records. Whilst digging through some, I found Simon and Garfunkel! I was so happy. So I listened to that, The Spirit Animals, and The Max Levine Ensemble for a few hours while messing around online.

Later, Stephanie came and picked me up and we took a trip to Wal*Mart to get stuff for Sloppy, who is comnig up here TOMORROW. I can't wait. We got like 20 bucks worth of gum and a hot pink scarf. I'm also giving them flyers. They seem to like those kinds of things.

Anyway, we go back to town and we're like...an hour early for church and it's fuh-reezing outside, so we decide to go to the pet shop. Stephanie picks out a goldfish (which we named Freddy) and then we head back to church.

At church, people were going crazy with the air bazooka and I wanted to shoot their faces off. Church was actually pretty boring tonight. . . Mexican afterwards, however, was not. Beth, Kalisa, Johnny, and myself all sat together and told jokes. Then, after everyone was finished eating, we went out into the frigid parking lot. Kalisa went and sat on a bench and johnny sat on her back. Beth and I swing-danced in the parking lot. I've discovered that my arms are way too long for dancing.

All in all, today was pretty fun. Tomorrow will be amazing.

Yours Could Be The Eyes I'm Dying For...

Tonight was surprisingly fun. I showed up about 20 minutes early and talked to Michael, Jordan, and Spiva for a bit. Then I went outside and waited for Beth and Kalisa to arrive. When they showed up, we went on inside and sat on the couch in the very front row. We chatted for a bit and Kalisa gave me a "present." She tossed me this candy bracelet and said it took them like 123981239087032478239 tries to get it out of the machine. . . They kept getting bouncy balls. I wore it as a necklace. The music started and was ok. . . I wasn't really impressed by any of it. The guy playing bass looked SO funny, though. Oh gosh. He was playing this 5 string electric bass that you'd see in a jazz band, and he just had this look on his face. You woulda have to have seen him. Anyway, Spiva played after all that was done and everyone knows how that goes. . . Beth and I talked for a little bit and told corny jokes afterwards. It 'twas fun. Here's a good one: Yo' mama's so fat, she has jokes told about her!

Tomorrow, since I don't have to go to school, I'm gonna try to learn some An Act of My Own songs. Me & Dave are finally gonna start practicing those so we can play some shows. Also, rumor has it that Me, Dave, Spiva, and Justin may have a gig in Woodstock coming up. I expect to see all of you there.

Tomorrow - Wal*Mart with Stephanie (picking up Sloppy goodies) then church.

You Say "Keep It Down," I Say "Turn the Volume Up To 50!"

Meh day today. I have a horrible cold. My head is splitting. I have an essay to write. I have nearly 50 pages of a book to read.

The highlights? I finally got my Max Levine Ensemble stuff in the mail today. Sloppy Meateaters / Black Candy in 3 days. . . I sure hope a lot of people show up.

I need to start working on another show. I've got bands ASKING me if they can play here. I love it. I just need to find a venue...

Tonight Is the Night We Change . . . Tonight, It Will Never Be the Same

In an amazing turn of events, I did indeed get to go to the afore mentioned show with Beth (and Kalisa)! It was really fun, except the halfway getting lost in Atlanta part. We got home at like...2AM, but it was worth it.

8:30AM this morning. I wake up, lay in bed, get up, lay back down, get up again at 8:45, grab some clothes and a towel, take a shower, dry off, put clothes on, and then go to the redneck mall -- Wal*Mart(!) -- to get my pants. It turns out, the first pair I touch are my size! Woohoo! So now, after paying of course, I embark on my trek back home, Dickies 30 x 32 workpants at my side. And the waiting begins.

I threw my pants in the washer (cause I always wash my clothes before wearing them), and sat around until about 4. That's when I started getting dressed. After I got done with that, I headed up to town to meet Dave and Spiva at Wendy's. We giggle, point, order, eat, chuckle, talk, eat, laugh, and throw away our trash. It 'twas very fun.

From Wendy's, Dave ran me to Kalisa's house, where we proceeded to anticipate Beth's arrival. After about 10 minutes, she rolls up and we hop in ze car. Off to Huddle House we go! When we arrive, it's like a nursing home field trip. . . Old people are EVERYWHERE. Kinda weirded me out, but anyway -- We ordered and went over to the jukebox and got some spifftantacular songs played. So go us!

Onward to the dance! We get there and go in. I am greeted with blasting rap music. Joy. So yea, we jsut kinda stood around for a bit and then decided to go "dance." I really suck at that. All I know are stupid dances. Haha, oh well! I had fun. After a bit of that, Dave comes up and tells me we're playing later than scheduled. . . Great. Anyway, Beth and I danced and walked around for awhile and in what seemed like no time, it was time for me to go play!

After flicking the power on the amp and playing a little bit of "So It Goes," we're starting. Everyone is screaming and it's great. I dance and jump a lot on stage. Both me and Spiva were out-of-tune on "Sugar We're Goin' Down." That stupid saddle thing kept falling on me too. . .I finally just said screw it and started jumping on it. Hopefully the videos / pictures come out alright.

Once the organized on stage chaos ceased and people stop talking to me, me and Beth "danced" (random hand and feet movements) for awhile, but then decided that the whole dance started sucking, and we wanted to go bowling instead.

We get to the bowling alley, get our shoes, and we're good to go. I picked one of those hot pink balls (that weighs like...4 lbs) and Beth(ian) got a purple 10-pounder. We bowled, and after numerous gutterballs on both sides, the game was over and I was the victor! 63 - 21. After we returned that shoes ( that part made me sad :( ), we decided to go in the arcade, game room-y thing. The one game we wanted to play, air hockey, was out or order . . . So we improvised and played it with bouncey balls. Fun stuff!

All in all, I had an excellent weekend. The only downside is that I hafta be up at the tree farm by 9 tomorrow morning to load our gear. Until next time, fellows and ladies.

Just Look To the Sky. Whatever You Do, Don't Look Down Tonight

So, it looks like I'm NOT gonna be able to go with Beth to see Josh & Luke play tomorrow. Gotta set-up / practice. The space we have to play in is so tiny. :(

The next day, I'm getting up early to go find some dressy pants to wear...Then, I'm gonna meet up wiff ze band and maybe grab a bite to eat? Soon after, I've gotta go hook up with Beth. Then off to the show we go! Well, actually...it's not a show, but I'm gonna call it one. It sounds cooler. :P

Anyway, no one reads this (and I forgot what I was gonna say), so I'm gonna shut up.

PS -- Super big surprise coming tomorrow.

Seek Truth and Not Acceptance

The Last November show was really fun! Beth picked me up from church and took me there. It was funny, I was sitting on this stone wall thing, and she could hardly get up there. You woulda had to have seen it. Anyway, the band played and were good. I stayed about an hour after it was over and hung out with the band (and their Will Smith standup) for awhile. They're all really cool! Hopefully I can get 'em in Blairsville someday.

"People" are still talking about me. Thanks a lot.

And If You're Lonely, I'll Be Around

No practice today or tomorrow (at least I don't think so). I'm hoping I can go see Last November at YHC tomorrow with Beth. Hopefully we won't practice on Friday either, 'cause I really wanna go with Beth to see Josh play that night. Don't get me wrong, I love playing. . .We just know all the songs already.

So, Batchelor assigned another essay today. We're working on 2 right now. Also, we're probaly getting a new novel to read within the next couple days . . . Even better.

I was talking to Ed today about the recording of the show. He said it's turning out really well! I should have a copy of it in my hands by the end of the week. Woohoo! I can't wait to see how dumb I look.

I need to start setting up the next show. . . I'm thinking In the Shadow of Victory, Taking Lottie Home, and foreverDOWN, definately. Any suggestions?

And Today Was A Day Just Like Any Other...

Bland, boring day today. Luckily, it seemed to pass with haste. HOWEVER, for the first time, we jammed with everyone plugged in, plus vocals. . . Fun stuff. I thought it went well. I just need to work on "I Believe In A Thing Called Love." I know how to play it, it's just the timing.

I wanna go to another show soon. I'm hoping to go see Josh & his band at the Hard Rock Cafe this Friday, but who knows how that'll work out. We may have to practice. . . I dunno yet. I'm gonna ask Dave tomorrow, though.

"Seek truth and not acceptance. We are so happy."

Oh, and I heard tons of positive feedback from everyone who attended the show this past Friday! I'm so glad everyone (I hope) had fun. I felt so bad for Richard when he broke his nose and had to leave, though. :( Next show, he's getting in free. He pretty much saved the day by picking up Sempiternal Truth when their truck broke down about 10 miles out of town. So yea...Go Richard!

currently untitled
this day seems longer than the last
though it's really the same, just on repeat
at this rate,
I dont know how I'll survive
maybe it's this town. . .
maybe it's these people. . .
who really knows?
all I know is
I wish you'd call

If You Find Yourself Here On My Side of Town

I now see why Copeland was headlining the tour they were on. I was expecting a kind of bland show from them, because "In Motion" was lacking. However, I was shocked and amazed. All of the bands did well, even though I wasn't too into Daphne Loves Derby. . .It's just something about whats-his-name's voice that kills them for me. I even got to talk to Nick from The Spill Canvas for a bit. . .He seems to be a nice guy. Anyway, it was well, well worth the 12 bucks.

As for now, I have to write a precis.

Tonight, Liberate My Soul

The show was awesome. In the Shadow of Victory were, in my opinion, the best band there. They were simply INCREDIBLE. They will DEFINATELY be coming back sometime in the near future. Everyone talked during Josh Fletcher and Casey's sets, which kinda of made me a little mad, but hey, they're the ones missing out.

My pictures came out as crap -- they looked good in the camera, but someone had screwed with my settings, and yea. Blugh.

The Spill Canvas, Melee, Copeland, and Daphne Loves Derby tomorrow night. Should be good fun. . .Might meet up with Josh down there.

What I've Got You've Got To Give It Ya' Pappa...

So, instead of jumping out into the crowd and dancing for "Give It Away," I get to play bass! That lick is so fun.

The show has finally come together! I'm so happy! Now if only people would show up. I've sold a grand total of 5 tickets so far.

Though this show has been stressful setting up, it's the least of my worries. . . Wish me (good) luck.

"I'm fallin' in love with you...Balloons or no balloons."

If You Wanna Sing Out, Sing Out...

It feels as if I've gotten absolutely nothing accomplished today...I sold 2 ticket to the show on Friday today, though! Woohoo! Other than that...nothing was accomplished except distributing flyers that people can't understand for some reason or another.

Dave has a new song up on his pureVOLUME and MySpace pages. It has a Jack Johnson-ny feel. I really like it! I'm gonna help him put out a demo within the next few weeks.

http://www.myspace.com/anactofmyown

The show is finally coming together. The Pack is playing and letting us use their PA. I wanna ask them what actually IS in the freezer...

Band practice tomorrow. Hooray! I still need to learn "I Believe In A Thing Called Love." Good thing it's easy. I really wanna play "Johnny B. Goode," though. . . I think that'd be pretty funny. Hopefully we can nix one of the boring songs and replace it with something else like that...

I've decided to start "Candide" tonight. Hopefully I'll be done by Saturday. It's a really short book.

I'm getting the feeling that no one is gonna read this. I don't really care, though. . .Maybe someone will stumble upon it someday and take interest?

The Spill Canvas / Melee / Copeland / Daphne Loves Derby on Saturday. Hopefully it'll be fun.

you know that there are"

So It Goes.

Hello fellow Bloggers and journal readers. Here is my first post. . . Interpret it how you may.

As some of you may know, I've been working on a Hurricane Relief Show here in Blairsville for awhile now. When I finally think it's all coming together -- boom -- something goes wrong. The band that claimed to be bringing the PA told me they didn't have one. . .Less than a week before the show. Now I'm left struggling to find one, while juggling schoolwork and band practices.

The band (me, Dave, Justin Jones, and Josh Spiva) is set to play at this year's Fall Formal thingy-do-bobber. We're playing some relatively popular pop-punky type songs that people can dance to. It's been fun so far. Hopefully everything will go well and we'll be a hit among our peers.

Speaking of Fall Formal, I actually have a date this year! I'm going with Beth Hammock. She's a really cool person and I'm glad to be going with her...I was hesitant at first though, because I think she'll get bored with me, and that wouldn't really be fair to her. . . I'm not a very exciting or interesting person. Hopefully she won't however, and we'll have an awesome time!

I would really like to meet Holden Caulfield. Go read "The Catcher In the Rye." I'm sure Holden would love the attention.

I'm not sure what the next book on the agenda is yet -- Either "Candine," by Voltaire, "Notes From the Underground," by Fydor Doestevsky, "Jailbird," by Kurt Vonnegut, or "Bluebeard," by Kurt Vonnegut. What do you guys think?

Tonight I have homework in Honors Lit. We're doing a group research paper and it isn't really going well so far. Luckily, tonight's homework is fairly simple, just tedious -- Bibliography cards! Oh joy.

Well, wish me luck fellow truthseekers, and for now adieu.

PS: Hope everyone's Halloween went well. I personally had a blast this year. It was fun hanging out with Beth, Kalisa, CJ, Blake, Krista, Olivia (?), and Abby. We'll definately have to do that again sometime!
