Everyone Is Getting Older, But No One's Growin' Up.

The marching festival was actually shaping up to be quite fun when I had to leave to get back to Blairsville for Trey's pirate mystery party, which was decent. I ended up being the murderer. After everyone except the usual crowd (me, Mark, Johnny, and Clay) left we had a small bonfire. We tried baking potatoes in it and they tasted horrible...Then we got bored, went inside, watched The Exorcist, and went to bed. If you ever have to sleep in the same bed as Johnny, here's some advice: bring your own blanket. He stole all of mine. Jerk. Anyway, when we woke up there wasn't really anything to do so we just sat around until 3 or so and then I decided to come home, and here I am. I'm not sure why I just typed all that...

I finally got all the Jon Crocker stuff straightened out for November 4th, but now Josh is saying that he can't do the house show I set up for Jon on the 5th...He's gotta be up here all that day and night. Oh well. I might be able to get him a different show, but I kinda doubt it...I've tried everywhere within reason that I've even heard of.

Aaaaaand, I think that's about it. Later.

I'm So Lost, I'm Barely Here...I Wish I Could Explain Myself, But Words Exscape Me...

...It's too late
To save me
You're too late
You're too late

You're cold with disappointment
While I'm drowning in the next room
The last contagious victim of this plague between us
I'm sick with apprehension
I'm crippled from exhaustion
And I dread the moment when you finally come to kill me

--Blink 182

I'm so stressed and I have no idea why.

As soon as I get all the stuff ready to promote the Jon Crocker show and start promoting it, Alex tells me we're gonna hafta move the time back...After I asked him if the current time was ok and he said it sounded fine. Now I have to redo all of the stuff. Great. Just what I need a week and a half before the show. More promotion delays. Oh well.

I need to start thinking about what I'm gonna do for Trey's Pirate Mystery Party on Saturday night. I'm gonna be at the band contest 'til like 3:30, and it's about 2 hours from Rome to here, without stopping to eat, so that means I'll probably get back here around 6. Which should be plenty of time to get ready for the party. Now I just need to figure out my outfit...

A few people talked me into taking the ASVAB tomorrow. Woo. It gets me out of boring classes, though, so I guess it's ok.

I'm in a meh mood and I'm sure if I type anything else it won't be of much interest to anyone.

Will Someone Please Help Me?

There were 13 people at the show and I am so grateful for them. I saw a few new faces and everyone sounded really good (especially Peasant), so hopefully those "new faces" will come to another show sometime. It seemed like Damien (Peasant) was fine with the low attendance and was kinda expecting it. I felt really bad though so I bought all the merch he had to offer and gave a donation. All that I really wanted was his new 7". :/ Anyway, this was definately the worst-attended show I've ever had, and that really sucks. Attendance in general has really sucked since school has started. I hate to say it, but I think I need help promoting. :/ I know for sure that the next show will be very well attended, though, so that's good.

Marching Band is almost over which means I can finally get another job. I really don't mind working as long as it doesn't totally take my life away. I could use the money now anyway. I have no idea where I'll work though. Just about anywhere other than KFC or any place affiliated with The Ridges would be fantastic.

Apparently Juniors won the Powderpuff game. I'm sure I will be hearing about it all tomorrow. Joy. I hate the whole "competing classes" thing we're doing this year. I just think it's a dumb contest. If I could pick any class to win it'd probably either be the Sophomores or Seniors. I like those two classes the best.

Meh, I dunno what I think about today. It was ok, I guess, but on the otherhand is had it's crappy parts. :/

Oh, I Can't Get Far Enough Away...

Friday: The football game on was decently fun, mainly because a bunch of the "band retards" as I call them weren't there, and we didn't have to march. I think I would've rather hung out around the house writing music, though.

Saturday: "Recording" with Trey and John. We got 1 song kinda done and it sounds like crap. I finally bought my mic-instrument cable adapter. It was a total ripoff, though. 16 bucks. Anyway, after we got done recording that song, we went back over to Trey's and I watched Johnny play videogames 'til 6 in the morning. Bethany and Sean were being Boogs and wouldn't come over, but I still had fun.

Today: Woke up at about 11:45, then went to Hayesville to have lunch with my aunt and grandparents. Not too exciting, but oh well.

Tomorrow: Attempt to promote the show as much as I can in the limited time span that I have. After the show, make flyers for the Jon Crocker show on the 4th. Alex was telling me that there should be like 275 people there, which is awesome. I'm pumped, even though I'm not even playing.

Ok, yea...I'm out.Peace thugs.

Everything Is Back and Right for Me...

Whew, the past couple days have been fun.

On Tuesday, Trey, Johnny, Bethany, and I went to Netherworld and met up with Mark and little Mark. Netherworld was pretty much a total ripoff, but hanging out with everyone again was really nice. After going through all the houses, we decided that we would just stay in Atlanta that night instead of coming back to Blairsville, so we crashed at Joe's apartment, where I met about half of "We Are the Avenue." They're pretty cool guys. Anyway, pretty much everyone there got really drunk and, surprisingly enough, it wasn't awkward for me at all really (I don't drink). All in all, a fun day.

We got back from Atlanta at about 4:30 on Wednesday and I sat around the rest of the day.

Today, I got up at about noon, went over to Michael Driskell's house and practiced stuff for Fall Ball for like 2 hours, then went to play Geoff Nelson / Erika Bumperkoom's split birthday party. I almost died on the way over there. There was this Stop sign at the bottom of this hill, and apparently there was a huuuuge puddle right where it was. I got to it, hit my brakes...Nothing. I went out into the road, saw a car like 10 feet away, floored it, and barely got out of the way in time. I'm almost positive I would've been dead if I had gotten hit, cause that car was going pretty fast. While waiting for Rollie to meet me so I can show him where to go, I see Beth driving which is a nice surprise. I call him and tell her I just saw her and she comes back. We only got to talk for like 30 seconds (she had to leave to write an essay or something), but it was nice seeing her again. Anyway, I get to the party and play my set; it was surprisingly a fun time. I got home about about 11.

Tomorrow, I hafta go to the football game at like 4. Not looking forward to that at all, really, but oh well.

I can't believe that Fall Break is almsot over. It hasn't felt like 5 days have passed already. More like 1.

There Was A Hammock, and It Held Us Swinging...

Whew, today was fun. Shawn Jinkerson, Jason Reid, and myself all decided to go to Taco Bell in Murphy today at like 1. Well, we did that then decided to go goof around in Ingles and Wal-Mart until about 4:30, then we went and just hung out at each others houses until around 7. It may not sound like it, but it was actually quite fun. Probably the most fun I'll have all break, actually. Definately gotta do it again soon.

And wow, I just had a horrible feeling of missing someone envoked by some very small collection of words, which was not directed towards me, nor had anything to do with missing someone. Sometimes I wish things worked out differently. I'm done. :/

Starched White Shirts, So Neatly Pressed By Domestic Muses...

...Feed dilusions that everything is working out right,
But your ribs can't withstand increasing weight
As your heart gets heavier and sooner or later,
It falls to the tips of your toes.

And every day tastes like inhaling
When you just lit the wrong end (that plastic burning scent).
Your only friends are on the exit ramps of gridlock caravans.
You try to ask how they've been,
But the metal and glass is too thick.

--Death Cab for Cutie

Well, Fall Break is here, but I'm not sure if I want it now. The past week at school was actually pretty fun. Although I don't have many friends in any of my classes (except band, surprisingly enough), I've learned to make the best of the few that I do have.

Apparently there's a new venue in Andrews called "The Coalhouse" or something to that nature. They opened tonight. I wanted to go check it out, but my uncle (who told me about the place) didn't return my call and I didn't know where it was.

I've got a solo show on Thursday. It should be fun, mainly due to the fact that I know pretty much everyone that's gonna be there (it's a joint (not the kind you smoke) party for Geoff Nelson and Erika Bumperkoom). Hopefully I'll be feeling better by then.

The Peasant show is next Monday. I hope there's a good turnout, as it is the last Top Pavillion show of the year. I actually know who to talk to to book the pavillion now, too, So yay.

AJ from Taking Lottie Home told me that he hates The Mourning After and doesn't want them playing at any of their shows. I think that's really lame. I already had them on schedule for the show and they were really excited about it, and now he says all that stuff. I've really grown to not like how the guys in TLH act (besides their new guitarist...He's actually pretty cool).

The setlist that we have for Fall Ball kinda sucks. I'm gonna hafta learn a ton of lyrics and I'm horrible at that. It wouldn't be so bad if that was all I hadta learn, but I hafta learn a bunch of guitar parts too, and all of these songs are extremely synopcated...And argh. :/

Memories...Very Deep Inside My Bloodshot Eyes...

I'm happy. The show went surprisingly well. At 5, only like 7 people were there, but within about 15 minutes, 10 or so more had showed up, making for a decent amount of people considering I promoted this virtually none. I only lost 24bucks on this show, and I think Megan is gonna give me a donation sometime this week, so yay. I was totally expecting to loose the full 50. I myself had fun throughout the whole show though, even when I was playing (although I was congested and couldn't hit a couple falsetto notes in one of my songs), so yay. The next show is October 23rd and it should be pretty fun. After that...Jon Crockerrrrr. I'm so pumped for that.

Student Council voted for Fall Ball to be on November 11th. That sucks. I have a show scheduled then. I'm attempting to just move the show to like 4:30 or so, but I'm not sure if it's gonna work or not. I was really looking forward to it too. It's supposta be Taking Lottie Home's CD release show and foreverdown's 2nd fullband show ever. :/

I need to finish getting everything done for "The Blairsville Sessions." I really wanna get that out as soon as possible...I already have the design for the face of the CD, I just need tracks from several of the bands and a cover design...

I am so ready for Fall Break.

Suite 11 is pretty much done with. For now anyway. I'm kinda glad. I didn't really like the music that much anyway and we always ruined shows. Spiva pretty much quit and is trying to start a new band with Justin called "Five Star Audio." I think that name is kinda lame / cocky and sounds like a brand of speaker. But whatever. Hopefully they'll have some fun with it. I remember a little over a year ago when I joined "Dawn On the Inside," which would later become Suite 11. I had fun with it. It was my first "fullband" experience. I don't really have (m)any regrets about it...Maybe us finally breaking up will allow me to focus more on my own stuff and now Black Candy? I hope so.

It's 11:29 and I am exhausted. Goodnight.

I've Got All This Worked Out In My Head...But This Ain't A Story From A Book I've Read...

After a long, drab week, my weekend was surprisingly fun. All I did was go to a band contest really, but I got to know a lot of the people in band a little better. Mainly the people that are graduating this year. It's really gonna be weird without those guys. :/

I hope people come to the show on Tuesday. I'm kinda worried, because I've had had much of any time to promote it, not to mention attendance has been screwy for the past like, 4 shows. :/

New Farewell Flight comes out this Friday. I think it's gonna be their weakest release yet. I've heard msot of it and I'm not very impressed. Except by "Lullabye." And I just heard the acoustic demo of it. :/

I wish Casey would get back to me about a possible show uhhhh next Tuesday. I really wanna hear the fullband stuff and some new songs. :/

This has been a ":/" post, in case you haven't noticed them at the end of each paragraph...Time for a :).

I got the November 4th show moved to Hayesville. That means, a bunch of people will show up. Hayesville always has awesome shows. There's gonna be a pre-show thingy at YHC at 2:30 though. Jon Crocker, GMST, and I Am Only Your Side Effect will be playing like 3 or 4 songs each. The later show starts at 5:30 at Black and Gold and is Jon Crocker, Joshua Fletcher, Wildebeest, and I Am Only Your Side Effect. I'm really looknig forward to it. This makes 8 shows I've set up for Jon on this tour. He played the first one (in Chicago) last night and said it was great. The place was packed. So that makes me happy.

And with that, I shall end on a good note. Goodnight. :)

This Is Me Calling You Out...

Well...The show was fun...For the most part. Turnout was horrible. Well, it wasn't so much turnout, it was attention. Half of the people there were outside the whole time. I dunno what it is about it, but shows since the schoolyear started have been whack. I saw a bunch of new faces at last night though, so maybe that's a good sign? A bunch of the "regulars" weren't there though. Like 10 of them. :/

Anyway, The Mourning After were really good, but the new In the Shadow of Victory totalllllly took the cake. Their music is unlike anything I've EVER heard before, and as you may very well know, I listen to a lot of stuff. It goes from heavyheavyheavy to soft and mellow, and then back to heavy and is just all around amazing. I do believe they will definately go places. They're soooooo much better than the old ItSoV. Anyway, back to the show. Rollie and I were extremely pumped about this show...It was gonna be so much fun cause we had been practicing as a 3 piece and having a total blast and finally getting everything down after practicing 'til 3 in the morning. Well Tyler calls at about 8:45 and says he's in town and wants to play. Spiva tells him it's cool, and I'm fine with it, so he comes on in. Well, it's time for us to play and we play and suck more than usual. Neither Rollie nor myself had fun at all (except maybe during the fullband 90's Medley). The reason: Tyler. He didn't even help load his gear back up...He jsut talked the whoel time. Rollie and I discussed it after the show. So there is some slight tension, but I sense that only Rollie and I feel it. It's not really tension, more of just...aggrevated-ness. It was pretty much guaranteed that we were gonna have a ton of fun, then Tyler comes along and all he does is mess up and take up the space where me and Rollie could've been running around like idiots. Oh well. I shouldn't be complaining. I'm sure it was fun for him. The whole thing's not about me. I'm really selfish sometimes and I hate that.

After the show, Spiva was complaining about us playing after metal bands / last. "Yea...that thing about locals playing last or whatever...Not doing that again." He says that everyone hates metal, that's why they leave. Well, not many people were leaving during the metal bands...They were leaving while we were playing. So I say, "If they really hated metal so much, why didn't they leave while they were playing and come back for us, instead of vice versa?" Needless, to say, that shut him up a little bit. Who really cares how many people they're playing for anyway? I play because it's (usually) fun...It doesn't matter how many people are there. The most fun show I've played was for 5 people. I don't think he gets that these shows aren't for us. This show wasn't even planned to have us on it. They're for the bands coming through here that need shows. People here have seen us entirely too many times. I promised In the Shadow of Victory a show before October 1st about 3 months ago, and this was it. I just wish everyone could be happy for once.

Swazye's show = cancelled. Apparently there was a miscommunication somewhere down the line. I'm kind glad though. We'd be Tyler-less, and kinda winging it with the new drummer...

I wrote a bunch of piano stuff today. It's some of my best musical stuff yet. I really like it. Hopefully I can implement some of it into some songs...Maybe I should just try to take all my piano things and merge them into one big piano thingy? I think I'm too lazy for that, but wouldn't it be cool? Haha.

Well, the weekend is over...Hopefully this week will be better. Maybe I can get some show set up at YHC on October 12th or something? I think that'd about be the best time to try anything there...Maybe get In the Shadow of Victory and Chainstereo? Start it ASAP in the evening. That'd probably be around 7... Have it over by 8:30 at the latest...It could work. We'll see, I guess.
