So Let's Give Up While We're Behind...I Know We're Losing, I Don't Mind...I'm Just Too Tired To Care At All...

I finally have a confirmed venue for the April 20th show, and oh man is the show gonna be awesome. Well...Hopefully. The bands playing are Taking Lottie Home, 1994, We Are Only Fiction, In the Long Run, and Mr. Microphone + A Piano for Penelope and it's at Black and Gold. Starts at 5:30. I'm excited. I hafta get 70 bucks to 1994 though, because they're almost out of merch and won't be able to make gas money unless I get that much to them. Hooray for donations...Assuming people will make decent ones. Also, I should know within a few days after that whether or not I can go on tour with Taking Lottie Home in June. Whee.

And that reminds me. There is a show TOMORROW (Friday, the 30th) at Meeks Park at 5PM. It's really last minute. Mandarin Dynasty is playing. Hopefully a few people will show up.

The show Saturday went decently. About 20 people were there. 10 or so less than I was expecting. But oh well. It was still fun and everyone made enough gas money and whatnot. Jon actually did quite well with merch. After the show, we all went out to Mexican and Cory payed for Kyle and Jon's dinner. Then we went back to Trey's and hung out for a bit. Kyle wound up going home the next morning (and got in a car wreck on his way home...He's ok though), but Jon wound up staying Sunday night too. Oh, and Stephanie took some promo pictures for Jon. They're pretty funny. They're up on his MySpace.

So I won a mixtape contest like last week right? I check my mail today and I have a bunch of CD's and DVD's from the people who did the contest. Yay. I love free stuff. Unfortunately, most of it sucks. Oh well. It was free and I exposed the people running the contest to some great bands that hopefully they'll take some interest in (it was a major label marketing company).

I'm finally getting the Lew Lewis double discs that I helped Bucky put out next week. Or so he says. I've been waiting on those things since November. They're 2 discs, with artwork, and will cost like 2 bucks each. Not a bad deal, even if it does kinda suck. Also, I still have a bunch of the stuff that I'm distro-ing for Valiant Death (including a restock on imadethismistake stuff -- 1 vinyl, 4 CD's). It's all cheap ($3 - 5 sliding scale) so it's not like you're out a lot if you buy something and you don't like it. Heck, I'd actually probably buy it back from you if you weren't completely satisfied with whatever you got.

Graduation tests were this week and they were all quite simple. Huzzah. Maybe I passed them all?

I have one of 3 A's in Honors Lit. I think that's kinda neat. My writing is genuinely getting better. I know I'm probably never gonna use any of that stuff in "real life," but oh well. I'm pretty sure I have one of the very few A's in Chemistry now too.

Spring Break starts in a week. I'm ready.

I'm getting fat. I need to lose some weight. Yargh.

I'm hoping that Kalisa and I are still going down to Under the Couch Saturday. I asked her about it over a month ago and she said it was fine, but yesterday she said she didn't know. Josh and Adam really want me to go too. :/ Hopefully I can find a way if Kalisa can't drive.

I wish people would leave me alone about Prom. I don't wanna go, so I'm not going. And besides, going by yourself is no fun. Even if I did have a date, I seriously doubt I would want to go at all either. I don't even think I'm going next year. If I do it'll just be for like 3 seconds just to say I went.

Well...I'm at a lack for words. I guess I best finish my Chemistry homework. I only have a couple things left that I didn't finish in class. Ta-ta for now.

I'd Rather Go Than Stay...

So Taking Lottie Home has officially asked me to go on tour with them. June 1 - 20th. 3 weeks. I think my dad is gonna say it's ok, cause I've briefly chatted with him about it, but I dunno about my mom. Maybe she'll understand.

Boogdish played here today. He was sick so he wasn't as energetic as usual. Several people showed up, but no one really bought anything which kinda sucks, but I can understand why they didn't get anything. I'm in the "Thanks" section of his new CD and that makes me feel cool. That's 3 so far. Huzzah.

I need to stop procrastinating on my school work. I know I won't though.

I need to figure out what the heck I'm doing with my life. I know I say this all the time. I don't wanna wind up like my brother: 21 and still living at home. I don't even know what I want to do with my life, whereas everyone else seems to already have it all planned out.

I hope people show up to the Jon Crocker, imadethismistake, Suite 11 show on Saturday. For one, Jon and Kyle are awesome and for two, it might be the last Suite 11 show ever. It's also the first one since September.

I've been so tired lately. It's ridiculous. I'm ready for Spring Break.

...And We All Fall Down. Ashes, Ashes Are All That Is Left...

I am a nervous wreck.

I have so much stuff on my mind right now it's ridiculous.

I have to make up my Chemistry test tomorrow morning. People are telling me to try out for drum major and I don't know if I want to or not. There are 2 shows coming up within 4 days of each other. I hope people come to them...I've been trying to promote, but it hasn't gone so well. My mom wants me to go to Chicago again soon. My uncle is missing. My grandmother is in the hospital and it really worries me. I'm still waiting on some CD's I ordered back in November. I still have about $60 worth of CD's I need to sell for Valiant Death. I need a job. I don't want a job. I really hope Taking Lottie Home was serious about wanting me to go on tour with them. If they were, I hope I can go. I want to start another band. I wish Dave would bring back my stuff. I wish I could quit losing stuff. I need to lose some weight...I feel fat all the time. A lot of my friends are really pretentious and it bothers me. Jon Crocker is an amazing musician who deserves to go very far...I hope people show up to watch him when he's here. I need to shave. I need to find a ride down to Atlanta on Saturday, March 31st. My grades this semester have been awful. I need to stop procrastinating and being so lazy. I know I won't though. I have no earthly idea what I'm gonna do with my life. I think I might need to get on that.

I am a nervous wreck.

Regardless, I'll put on a smile and try to make the best of another day. Everyone seems to think I'm the happiest person in the world. If they only knew.

If they only knew...

Love Is Watching Someone Die...

I just felt the need to post this awesome Death Cab for Cutie song...Nothing else:

And it came to me then that every plan is a tiny prayer to father time
As I stared at my shoes in the ICU that reeked of piss and 409
And I rationed my breaths as I said to myself that I'd already taken too much today
As each descending peak of the LCD took you a little farther away from me
Away from me

Amongst the vending machines and year-old magazines in a place where we only say goodbye
It stung like a violent wind that our memories depend on a faulty camera in our minds
But I knew that you were a truth I would rather lose than to have never lain beside at all
And I looked around at all the eyes on the ground as the TV entertained itself

'Cause there's no comfort in the waiting room
Just nervous pacers bracing for bad news
And then the nurse comes round and everyone will lift their heads
But I'm thinking of what Sarah said that "Love is watching someone die"

So who's going to watch you die?

Go For A Ride, Always Got To Come Back, Come Back Now...

Awesome weekend. On Friday, Johnny, Trey, and I went to The Masq to see Taking Lottie Home. They did well as usual. When we went out to the car to follow them back to Habersham, we discover that Jo's car has been towed. So, we go to the towing place and wait 2 hours through all this paperwork and finally we can go home. We get to AJ's house at like 3:30 and go to bed. Unfortunately, we couldn't stop to see Beth due to the car getting towed. I think I'm gonna see her on the 31st though, so that'll be nice.

The next day we went and watched a movie at Chris's house then went to the show. I did merch for TLH all night. AJ also told me that they were bringing me on tour with them in June. I think he was half joking, but if he really was being seriously, I'm down. During their last song though, Johnny, Trey, and I all got to go on stage and sing along / "rock out" with everyone. It was fun. After the show we all went back to Jo's house and just kinda hung out for a bit. Jo's brother's band, A Girl A Gun A Ghost was there too. It was kinda awkward because we didn't really know anyone, but oh well.

We left around noon and got back at like 2. Then I had to go to my grandparents' house to eat dinner. My little cousin was over there and was ridiculously loud. Yagh.

Oh well...All in all, it was an awesome weekend, despite Trey being a diva pretty much the whole time.

Oh, and here are the official rates for the CD's I'm selling...I've decided to sell them for exactly how much I'm paying for them. If anyone wants to give more, that's fine, and if someone's short by a little bit, but still wants something, I'll see what I can do. Also, if anyone wants to hear a track or two off of these releases, lemme know and I'll send some stuff!:

$4.50
V/A - Yay 4 Cuteness. //// This is a 32 track compilation of "cute" bands. Most of them have female vocalists. It's alright, I suppose. Just like any comp it has some good songs as well as some bad. Comes with a cookie recipe, hand sewn case, button, and finger puppet.

$3.50
Wax & Wane - Winter. //// Wax & Wane is a neo-folk / experimental band. Pretty cool stuff. It's only three and a half bucks, why not give it a shot? 9 tracks.

Tinyfolk - "Platapeasawallaland" A Rainy-Day Owlbum. //// Tinkyfolk plays very poppy folk music on a ukelele. The artwork for this "owlbum" is awesome. The CD also has a neat music video you can watch if you put the disc in your computer. Check it! 13 tracks.

Captain Chaos - This Is Cake. //// This is the 2nd in a series of 6 albums by Chris Clavin (Ghost Mice, The Devil Is Electric). Written as a birthday present for a special friend of his, this CD contains 25 tracks -- One for each year she's been alive, plus one for good luck. It's really good.

Captain Chaos - Ireland. //// The 4th in a series of 6 albums by Chris Clavin (Ghost Mice, The Devil Is Electric). Here's the description from the booklet and the label's site: "What if you found your journal one day but you had never seen it before? All the dates were at least two years in the future, would you read it? I read 10 pages, six pages about Ireland and four pages about Baja, California. These songs are about those six pages. I didn't write songs for all of them because I didn't want to spoil the ending for you know who." Only 500 are being made. Not as good as "This Is Cake." 14 tracks.

Joe Jack Talcum - Home Recordings 1984 - 1997. //// This is the solo project of Joe Jack Talcum, the singer of The Dead Milkmen. It's all home recordings and acoustic demos he's done of Dead Milkmen songs. Kinda neat if you're a DM fan. 24 tracks.

Nice and Friendly - Nice and Friendly. //// Nice is Friendly is Evan Gornik for Western Springs, IL. He used to play in an awesome mathrock band called "When All the World Sleeps," but for now he plays solo. The music is poppy folk punk. 11 tracks.

$2.50
imadethismistake - The Bonfire Club CD-EP. //// This is FINALLY out. This is the CD version of imadethismistake's "The Bonfire Club." The CD version consists of 8 tracks. 4 studio, then 4 versions of those songs played live with an orchestra. It's pretty darn awesome! I'll have the 7" version soon.

Coming soon:
Bucky Lee Lewis - Double Disc. //// Like the title says, this is a double disc album from Bucky Lee Lewis. It'll probably cost like 2 bucks. 2 CD's, 2 bucks, comes with artwork...Not too bad of a deal...At least I don't think so. Why not try it out? Should have these really soon.

Vinyl! I'll be getting assorted vinyl. Probably Wax & Wane, imadethismistake, Madeline, and Ghost Mice's new vinyls.

Well...I think that's just about it. Hope you're having a good day.

Freedom Is Realizing That Nothing Matters...

Yay for going to see Taking Lottie Home both Friday and Saturday. I'm looking forward to it. I just wish I didn't have to pay for anything. I'm nearly broke and in desperate need of a job.

I got "Dancing On Nothing," by Dustin and the Furniture in the mail today. It's pretty amazing. I was actually surprised to see that it was a professionally done CD in a digipack when I got it. I was expecting CD-r with normal, cheap paper artwork. Now I feel bad for only paying 4 bucks for it. See, he sells his stuff on a sliding scale of 1 - 10 bucks. All I had was 4 and I got an awesome, awesome CD worth much more in return. The artwork is fantastic too. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. It even has a rap song on it!

Ungdomshuset has been raided by the police. And now riot ensues. I hope the rioters win and get their stuff back. Here are some pictures: http://politiken.dk/fotografier/billedhjul_foto/article254394.ece?service=gallery

The record store / venue / coffeeshop idea is actually coming together. Ed is getting the final verdict later tonight. I really, really hope it works. I'll be working voluntarily for awhile (if not the whole time), but I'm definitely down for that.

I got a box of CD's in from Valiant Death that I will be distro-ing. I'm selling them all on a sliding scale of $4 - 5, which is pretty close to exactly what I'm paying for them (either exactly on or about .50 over). Here's what I got:

imadethismistake - The Bonfire Club CD-EP
Wax & Wane - Winter
Captain Chaos - This Is Cake
Captain Chaos - Ireland
Tinyfolk - "Platapeasawallaland" A Rainy-Day Owlbum
Nice and Friendly - Nice and Friendly
Joe Jack Talcum - Home Recordings 1984 - 1997
V/A - Ya 4 Cuteness (comes with button, hand sewn case, finger puppet, cookie recipe)

If you want anything, lemme know! Donations welcome. Haha.

Rollie and I played a rather interesting show last night. It was for a drag male beauty pageant. Interesting stuff. Makes me not wanna go to college.

Anyway, I need to start the 2 essays and revision I need to do for Honors Lit. Hope everything is going grand in your world, whoever may be reading this
